Alexandre Cavaliere Quintet
A feast of cheerful gypsy jazz
The long-awaited Alexandre Cavaliere Quintet album will not be released until February 2020, but one can already hear it in preview at the Djangofolllies festival!
Violinist Alexandre Cavaliere was called a prodigy. At the age of twelve he was invited to Paris by Didier Lockwood and Babik Reinhardt after they heard him play in Brussels. His career naturally gained momentum. Together with his father's band, he toured around the international stages and built up a breath-taking list of performances: in the Théâtre Princesse Grace in Monaco, alongside Michel Jonasz in the Olympia in Paris, the Espoo Jazz festival in Finland and in New York at the renowned Django Reinhardt festival Birdland. He has also starred regularly as popular guest on radio and television.
After a break of several years, Cavaliere is back with a new band in which he blends gypsy jazz in the style of Django Reinhardt with the bebop idiom, modern jazz and the influences of Dorado Schmitt and Biréli Lagrène.
